This Isn't a Big-Box Gym. That's the Point.

Most gyms hand you equipment and wish you luck, or put you in a class where everyone does the same workout at the same pace. Alloy is different.

At our Fairfax City studio, sessions are capped at six members and a professional coach leads every minute — watching your form, adjusting your program, and progressing or modifying every exercise to fit your body. It's the coaching of personal training without the one-on-one price tag.

Training here is personal in the literal sense: Director of Training Daniel Getchell and his team run the floor, and they know every member by name. Your program is tracked, your progress is measured, and your workouts change as you get stronger.

Our members don't simply join a gym on Main St. They join a coaching relationship.

What We Do

Coaching, Not Just a Gym Floor

Small Group Personal Training

Our signature service combines the personalized coaching of one-on-one training with the energy and accountability of a small group. Every session at our Main St studio is led by a professional coach and individualized to each member's fitness level, mobility, injuries, and goals.

Complimentary Intro Session

Every new member starts with a complimentary Intro Session at 10258 Main St. You'll talk through your goals, health history, and training experience with a coach, then complete a functional movement assessment and an InBody body composition analysis before finishing with an introductory workout scaled to you.

Functional Movement Assessment

Every member receives a movement assessment designed to identify mobility restrictions, muscle imbalances, and movement limitations before training begins. It lets our coaches personalize exercises, reduce injury risk, and make sure every workout is both safe and effective from day one.

InBody Body Composition Analysis

We use InBody technology to measure much more than body weight — muscle mass, body fat percentage, visceral fat, hydration, and other key body-composition metrics. These assessments give us a real baseline and let us track meaningful progress over time, not just a number on a scale.

Personalized Exercise Programming

Although members train together, every program is customized to the individual. Our coaches continually adjust movements based on each person's goals, fitness level, mobility, injuries, and progress, so every workout stays appropriately challenging whether it's your first month or your fifth year.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is small group personal training?

Small group personal training is one professional coach leading a handful of members — at Alloy Fairfax City, never more than six — through workouts programmed for each individual. You get the coaching and customization of a personal trainer with the energy, community, and lower cost of training alongside others.

How is it different from 1-on-1 personal training?

You still get a program built around your body, your goals, and your injury history, with a coach watching your form every session. The difference is cost: because up to six members share the session, you get personal-training-level coaching without the one-on-one price tag.

How is it different from a class gym or bootcamp?

In a class, everyone does the same workout at the same pace, and one instructor can't watch thirty people. At Alloy Fairfax City, sessions are capped at six and every exercise can be modified or progressed to fit you. No leaderboards, no competitions, no pushing through pain.

What happens at my first session?

Your first visit is a complimentary Intro Session at our studio at 10258 Main St. You'll talk through your goals and health history with a coach, complete a functional movement assessment and an InBody body composition analysis, and finish with an introductory workout scaled to you — then we recommend the membership that actually fits.
